Featured products no longer random

Hi,

The featured products centrebox on my main page is no longer displaying a random order of featured products.
Don't think I have, and don't believe its poss., to turn this feature off in the admin section.

Any suggestions?

Could my /includes/modules/featured_products.php file have become corrupted?

You have 12 Featured Products ... you are displaying 12 on the Main Page ... try adding more Featured Products and see if you get random products ...

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, have tried all that kind of thing.

Deleted all the featured products and readded them, different numbers of featured to the number in maximum values etc.
Following on from your suggestion have added 3 extra products with max values at 12, they shuffle along but its not random.
Am pretty sure (though could be mistaken) I had 12 active featured and 12 in max values and the order randomized, until recently.
The only thing thats poss is I sold all of one item (so stock qty =0) that was featured and it disappeared from the featured list, which I presumed was normal. This could have been at the same time...

What is your idea of random?

If you are down to 12 and set to display 12 ... what is it you want to happen?

For them to appear in a different order on each page load, am sure thats what was going on until recently (Maybe I was presuming something more complex was going on than actually was...)

Actually, when one product that was featureds stock ran out there was an empty space where it had been (featured product main page), and no randomization since.. (have deleted that from featured) with 12 active featured and 12 in maximum values.

I'm having the same issue except that I have 12 in max and more than 25 featured products listed but the same 12 show and do not switch order. meaning

heres a link to my dev site. You will notice that on refresh the products do not switch :/

I'm going to delete all products under featured and add different ones to see if that fixes something. So far deleting the ones that were on the front page and leaving the others still on there just made the front page blank

Hmm...Ok that fixed it. Changing to a new line of products somehow made everything random again. Freaking weird
