    Default email help needed

    I am having troubles getting the email functionality to work. The email addresses I have under admin/ config/ email settings don't receive any emails when I sign up as a new customer.

    Also, I added my own smtp email account, which only says it has sent mail to a customer when I have it set to sendmail instead of smtp. I added all of the pertinent smtp for outgoing as well, but it only says it has sent when set to sendmail. when set to smtp or smtpauth it says from address doesn't work.

    am I missing a setting somewhere else that turns on mail function or something?

    However, the mail is not received.

    I also tried the contact us button in the shop and tried sending mail to myself, and again, no mail received, yet it says message sent.

    Try setting Email Archiving Active? to true until you get this squared

    It will let you know if ZenCart passes the email to your hosts mail server
    If it does, then it is an issue with the mail server as once passed, ZenCart has no further control

    I changed everything to use one email account, so to make sure that wasn't interfereing, and I tried sending emails on evry setting. sendmail workd and qmail works.

    My mail server has an stmp for outgoing and I listed all that.

    any ideas? My hosting company is clueless and won't help since zen cart is third party.


    The email itself is working fine on my mail client at home. The use of the email client in zen cart is what isn't working. It says sent, but I recieve nothing.

    so it says it is sent when using sendmail

    however, nothing arrives.

    I turned on archiving. how do I look to see if the messages were archived?

    I can receive emails sent from admin now, but the contact us emails don't work

    when I type in one of my other yahoo addresses it says the from address failed. I tried with two different yahoo accounts multiple times. I can send through smtp settings fine, but customers can not contact me. help!

    Not familiar with YaHoo email requirements but theorize that settings they require might be at issue

    Do you not have email capabilities with your host?

    I got everything to work by finding an article that said for godaddy set the to smtpauth set smtp host to relay-mail.secureserver.net

    and port to 25

    I called godaddy and the first guy I talked to said it was amazing port 25 worked, said that's usually email port for spammers, said try port 3535. That didn't work. eventually he checked with sevrer people and they said I had it right but the servers were hiccuping at the time I was doing all the testing so the emails were there, just not going through.

    I finaly got the contact us email to work as well.

    Thanks again for giving me the links to get that info !

    FOR SMTP What about trying port 2525 and have authentication set to "on" using the same email and password used for the account.
