Default changing domain on same server/host

i copied the entire zencart file from one domain to another using cute ftp. I changed the 2 configure.php files. i have the same zencartxxxxxxxx and xxxxxxzencartxx password and database but i get an error page that starts off with
"You are seeing this page for one or more reasons:

    1. This is your first time using Zen Cart™ and you haven't yet completed the normal Installation procedure..."

I did not install zencart on the new domain, i just copied it in my ftp.

do i need to install it first then copy files? is so do i not copy some files but just alter them, and do i use the same database and database password and if so will that affect the other cart on the first domain? i am hoping that all my products an all come with it as i put a lot of work into loading and customizing it.

You are seeing that because your configure.php files are not correct
