Can anybody tell me why, when I put in a relative path to an image (e.g. just button.gif) in the image folder, it gets converted into an absolute path?
Even when I go back in and take the path out in the code editor and save, it is automatically added back in...
It means that the images do not show up on my site...
I have overcome it in the product section by going into the MySQL to take out the paths and that works, but now I am altering EZpages I can't do it. Also, the former is very long-winded and I have a lot of images and not a lot of time
If anybody can help me with any suggestions I'll be very grateful...

It depends on what editor you're using.
In your case maybe you need to set your editor choice to just Plain Text, instead of using Code View..

Unfortunately I am still actually not finding anyone that can answer my query regarding the e-mail paths being auto-inserted. Am I the only one with this problem?

Again, use code view instead of HTML view, or switch your editor to Plain Text instead.

Ok, I get what you're saying, but I update pages within the Admin section and when e.g. I am updating a page in Define Pages or EZ Pages, it comes up in HTML first and I have to switch to plain text by which time the path has been added, and I have to go right through all the html and manually delete the part of the path that causes the error. The same thing happens on product pages where I have provided a link to e.g. a pdf file with further info... I go to the Catalog and Product in question and the description comes up in HTML and adds the path

You can change the default editor anytime you like.
Which rich-text editor do you have installed?.
