    Default Upgrading Zen Cart

I have come to realize that I have to upgrade Zen Cart to have the define pages editor work.

I have done a ton of work on the site, including installing modules, creating EZpages etc.

How can I upgrade the site without having to retrace my steps and do all this work again? It seems quite painful to have to do this.

If you've followed the overrides system correctly, you shouldn't have an issue. What version are you running currently?

I"m using v1.3.9g and need to go to v1.3.9h . I'm just wondering about the 3rd party modules and if they will disappear when I install the new version.

They shouldn't unless they require edits to core files (stuff that comes with Zen Cart). In that case, you'll likely have to reinstall the module or at least do the edits again.

This upgrade process is unbelievably complicated and I'm afraid to go any further with it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm so afraid of losing all the work I've done so far.

First, make a complete backup of your site (files and database). Second, don't try the backup on your live site, but on an exact copy in a subfolder (with its own database).
There are plenty of detailed tutorials and posts on upgrading, and this step is relatively small, with no db work needed.

He means "don't try the upgrade on your live site", not "don't try the backup on your live site".
