How to change main page Meta Description through admin?

Hi,

I tried to change my meta description and keywords through meta_tags.php, but when I did that, a blank screen appeared instead of my main page.

I think I somehow managed to change the description and keywords through the zen cart admin area (since I did not experience this problem when I changed it in the beginning) instead of editing the php files, but do not remember how exactly I did it.

Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Cannot edit them from the admin.

Watch for typo's in the meta_tags.php file. Dumb things like an ' apostrophe will hose the site. If you need to use ' then precede it by using the backslash \' So Joe's Crabshack would be Joe\'s Crabshack.

Could you tell me what portion of the meta_tags I have to edit?
I am wondering if I might have touched the wrong portion.
