Custom Order Confirmation Email

Is the ability to add custom text/instructions to the order confirmation email for specific products?

For example, one product I may want to inform them that their download is available through their account, on another product I may want to send them to an external link? Hopeuflly I can do this without any custom coding. Thanks in advance.

Only manually then as it would require quite a bit of custom code to differentiate....

And then what does it send if I buy one of each in the same order????

One of each would include the description/instructions on the email. :). I think this is an important feature. At least to have the ability to trigger custom emails for particular products.

So now you must account for at least 3 variables

email 1 - if item A is purchased
email 2 - if item B is purchased
email 3 - if item A & B are purchased

If you then also have additional variables it becomes increasingly difficult to program

I'm not really a great programmer, but I could imagine setting options for certian products to include text from a table. If there are multiple items purchased, and they are all flagged to have email instructions set, than order.php can post the text from the field in the table that contains the instructions.

What other variables would have to be taken into consideration?

If they purchase a tangible product that needs to be shipped, than maybe the isntructions could say something like "your product will be shipped in so many days. to view the status of your order, log into your account."
