Free Shipping on a Per Item Basis

Hello,

I currently use USPS as my shipping carrier and this is working and charging my customers correctly. Is it possible to have free shipping on an item by item basis. When I tried this from within the product, it tells me that I need to have a free shipping module installed.

I installed freeshipper and everything was free. I just want a handful of items to be free. I'd like to let the normal rates apply and have the free shipping be the exception.

If a Product is marked as:

Always Free Shipping: Yes, Always Free Shipping

Or ... is marked as

Product Weight: 0

where 0 weight is defined as Free Shipping in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ...

Then you need to install the FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper shipping module to manage the cart when there is no weight or a Product marked as Always Free Shipping ...

When there are Products with weight, then the Free Shipping Products have no weight so they will be included in the Order but they will not count toward Shipping Cost ...

Thanks for the reply! I would like to just use the "Always Free Shipping: Yes, Always Free Shipping" option in the product setup. I have the FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper shipping module installed, but cannot for the life of me see where I configure this.

When I enable free shipping, everything is free.

Make sure that you are not trying to use the Modules ... Order Totals ... Shipping ot_shipper where Free shipping is enabled ...

Make sure all Products have a weight so the USPS shipping module can work ...

You should see in the Modules ... Shipping ... just the USPS and FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper shipping module installed ...

You should only see the FREE SHIPPING freeshipper shipping module when you have ALL Products in the cart marked as Always Free Shipping or as 0 weight ...

Otherwise, you should see the USPS shipping module ...

Also check that the Shipping modules, if you are using a Sort Order on 1 of them that you are using unique Sort Orders on ALL of the installed shipping modules ...
