Stock management by product attributes

Hope this is the right topic for my question:)
I apolozise if my question is not new.
I can't figure out how to track and manage stock in my store. I guess I am looking for the feature that allows me to insert and track product quantities by attributes e.g. one product: diff. sizes: diff. colors - 10 X red shirts size 1 etc. so when my customers purchase something, my stock database would be automatically updated by attributes of purchased product. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My Zen is 1.3.8

Hi, I have installed the above mentioned module, and it is ALMOST working great. The issue I have is this...

I have only one attribute, being Size, however I have a problem when it comes to the checkout.

If I have 1 of size 4 and 1 of size 5, the total stock for the product is obviously 2.

However, if I put in a qty of 2 for size 4, it will let me order it. If I put in 3 for size 4, it displays an error because 3 is greater than the total qty for the product.

Making sense? Surely the message should also display if the qty of that particular size is too much? I'm not sure if there is an issue with the installation, or if this is a bug, but any help would be really appreciated.

I would like to be able to update my stock level automatickly. What I mean is when I sell something in my store I want my web page update the stock quantity as well

Can any one help ?
