How to set up a reciprical link page?

I've been trying to set up a reciprical links page via EZ Pages.

The problem is that most of the sites we are submitting to can't see the links we a recipricating for them. The general errot message is along the lines of "We could not find a link to us on the page you specified."

Has anyone sussed how to do this and make it work??

If you want to add links, there are a variety of ways to do this... but why do you want external links pointing out of your eComm site?

There is very little to gain (in terms of SEO), and quite a lot to lose.

Having been building eComm sites for 8 years now, and working with literally hundreds of companies to increase their checkout values, we have determined that external links are a no-no... Forrester Research indicates that 80% of people leaving your site are unlikely to return.

An eComm site should have one single-minded objective... to sell products. The only way you want people to leave your site is through the checkout pages.

By all means set up blogs and microsites and pepper them with links (we do this as part of our WPE strategies), but keep your eComm site free of external links.

Thanks for your reply, and I agree with you whole heartedly (we clearly work in the same field , but in this case I need this to happen for certain links that will help us gain SEO advantage.

The link page itself won't ever be particularly evident to our site users and it will have a 'no follow' to robots. I just need the automated system of the link providers to 'see through' the fog of this system.
I can't figure out how to make them see the link??

Any ideas at all?
