Default Setting up for Pay Pal

I am using ZenCart version 1.3.8a

I want to begin using PayPal for our site.

I have created an account with PayPal, but I am unsure what step to take next.

Do I finish setting up through my Zen by selecting the "PayPal IPN (Instant Payment Notification Preferences)? or do I need to log onto PayPal and set up with them?

    Paul H.

    Instructions here: http://www.zen-cart.com/getpaypal

Don't use the old "PayPal IPN" module. Use Express Checkout instead.

And, since you're using a very old version of Zen Cart, you're STRONGLY advised to upgrade your site to the latest version to benefit from the numerous bugfixes and VERY important security fixes.

Thank you, so much, for the help.

I, indeed, will update my Zen Cart, as well.

It does recommend to "back up" our Database before making changes. Could you let me know how to "back up" my database? I am not exactly sure how to do this, since we are new to using the Zen Cart.

    Again, thanks,
    Paul H.

You can back up your database using phpMyAdmin in your hosting control panel, but this mod: http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=1646 lets you back up your database and site files from admin. It works well.
