logowrapper problem

Hi

I am trying to modify the logoWrapper tag, I have changed it to White

#logoWrapper{
background-color:#FFFFFF;
}

however the colour of the header is still black, I have also tried the changing the image, and having a white background, but when I upload it, it goes transparent, so again the background shows as black.

I can't figure this out.
