You missed to follow my suggestion in post #17

Download the file from the server to your hdd
Edit the file on your pc (good to have a text editor like notepad++, you can google it)
Upload the file - before uploading you could rename the file on the server, so if the edited file creates problem you can roll back to the working file by just renaming it to its original name, i.e. defaults.css > defaults_old.css; if newly uploaded file works fine, you can delete the old one.

It would be good to have the same structure of Zen Cart on your local pc.

Now, before doing anything else do as Celtic too suggested:
download a copy of your files to your hdd (drag and drop from right to left pane)
If not all the files, at least the includes folder.

You may want to download a fresh package of Zen Cart, so that you can recover some of the original files.
Of course that does not include any different template, or mod you may have installed.

For any file that has an override (/your_template/) path available, do not rename or replace the original at all - just upload the edited version to the override template location, leaving the original untouched.

For any file that has an override path available..... do not rename or replace, etc. are you referring to when I am dragging & dropping from R to L, as Keneso instructed? Or do you mean - don't drag and drop any file that has an override path available? Can you explain?

Do not rename/replace the original file on your server; copy or download it, edit and re-upload the changed file to the template override location on your server.

But I received this error on website when I removed <br class="clear both"/> from tpl_product_info.php ?

Well done in finding the error and correcting it. Looks like you're back to where you were at the beginning now though, so you still need to remove that <br class="clearBoth"/> tag.

A couple of things though...

Now that you have a local copy of your /includes folder on your PC, you should definitely edit the files in there using Notepad++ (note the 'plus plus') which is a free text editor from http://notepad-plus-plus.org

The previous comments about 'overrides' I think are a bit off-topic for you in regard to this, but they will have come about because of the error you reported above. You can see that the error is complaining about something you did in the 'template_default' folder. This folder is one that Zencart relies on if it can't find what it is looking for in the template you are actually using (which is 'TemplateEditor' in your case).

So, either you mistakenly edited the file in the 'template_default' folder, or more likely you couldn't find the 'tpl_product_info.php' file at this location: /includes/templates/TemplateEditor/templates/tpl_product_info.php

If you couldn't find the tpl_product_info.php file in your TemplateEditor location, you should copy the file from
/includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_product_info.php
into
/includes/templates/TemplateEditor/templates/tpl_product_info.php

By doing that copy of the file from the default location into your own template is what is referred to as using the 'override' system. Now Zencart will find your own tpl_product_info.php file in your template, and use that instead of looking for the 'default' one.

Does that help at all, or am I just confusing things even more?
