    Default configure.php files

between changing servers, going from temp url on new server to regular url after dns switched and then adding ssl, my config files are messed up and i can't bring up the pages on the web.

if i install a new cart (with a different file name, test_store which is not what my 'live' cart is called) on the same domain, so i can can copy the configure.php files to my existing cart, will that wipe out my database or hurt my existing cart in any way???

    thanks

Only if you do not do it correctly....

Make backups of all current files and a proper DB backup FIRST

Create a NEW Database for the test install

Even then the files will need to be edited to change the path and the DB details
