product description truncated

I'm a newbie here and having a bit of trouble learning how to use ZenCart. I have created a product and on the product info page where it gives the detailed description, my description is truncated at 275 characters. How do I allow the full description to be displayed here on the product info page?

This is not the product listing page where it allows you to change the number from 0-150. this is after you click on the product and it shows a larger picture and allows you to select the attributes, etc.

look at the end of the description the last bullet should read: "notice how the description is truncated" but is obviously cut off there and any text added after that is deleted.

any help??

that thread is for the product LISTING page, my issue is with the product INFO page.

Is the description truncated when you go to edit the product in your admin?
How did you enter the product? Did you type in the data manually? or did you try some sort of addon or manual database import trick?

when i initially set up the description and "preview" it in admin before updating the product, the entire length of text is there. After i click update, the remaining text is truncated and cuts off around 275 characters.

i am entering the product manually. i have my product information in an excel spreadsheet that i am cutting and pasting info from. i have also typed the data up manually without cutting and pasting. no tricks here. im having trouble with the basics!

i actually figured out how to fix it but it still doesnt make sense. i cannot have any colons : in the text because it truncates after those for some reason. all of my descriptions started with the same text and then had a colon at the end of the paragraph to list the features and benefits in a bullet list. apparently I cant have special characters in my descriptions. i was even tried it with the plain text editor and the HTML editor with the same results.

A colon should not affect the description. You must have something wrong with your installation. What version of Zen Cart are you using? The site in your link is not Zen Cart; where is the ZC located? (You can add spaces to keep it from being indexed if you want.)
