From Money Order/Check to PayPal?

I have had a few customers complete orders and they have picked Money Order/Check as their payment type. Then a bit later, say the next day or so, they contact me to say their PayPal is now working and they would like to pay for their order via PayPal.

So my question is can a Money Order/Check order be converted into a PayPal order?

What I have been doing is sending the customer an invoice created on PayPal then just updating their order from within the Administration area on my site to indicate paid and shipped. However, it would be great to have all the PayPal information right there when I click and view the Details of the order.

I suppose I could manually edit the database but that would be a lot of work for this big-time rookie. Maybe an SQL import could be made that all the information could be added the file before uploading it to the database?

Any advice and/or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

I get this from time to time. I just jump to Pay Pal and make an invoice there with exactly the same products and prices they selected and send the invoice with comments in box.

Once it is paid for i will cut and paste the Pay Pal confirmation # into the order information in Zen under that order and send an email from within the order in Zen.

Your payment via pay pal has been recieved. Your order will now be processed and shipped shortly.

and then it's handled like any other order from there --

Thank you for your reply. That is how I am doing things now and yes, it works okay.

I was sure hoping that all the regular stuff that gets collected for an order during a PayPal payment (all the stuff in the gray and all the Order Refund & Voiding Order Authorizations, which is directly above the Products ordered) could be added to a customers order when they end up paying via PayPal but originally completed their order by selecting Check/Money Order as the payment method.

Not a problem if this sort of thing cannot be done. I will continue to do it the way I have been doing it, the same way that you, JS1scuba, is also doing it.
