HELPMy customers are placing orders and paying for them, but my site has NO RECORD of the order. PayPal shows that they paid, but there is NO RECORD of any Order in my Admin?????????

Forgot to add: AutoReturn is ON.... This site has been up and running just fine for over two years....then all of a sudden no orders showing up, but PayPal got the money...???
1. You're using a VERY old version of Zen Cart, which has numerous serious widely-known vulnerabilities. You really need to upgrade.
2. If the money shows as being paid from the customers, but not to YOUR PayPal account, then you've been hacked. In this case, follow the RECOVERING FROM HACKS instructions mentioned above. And upgrade your site. And, as mentioned below, switch to EC instead of IPN.
3. If the money shows as arriving in YOUR PayPal account, then your problem is that the communications between PayPal's server and *your* server is failing. And this can be caused by hundreds of possible problems. It's a common problem when using the PayPal IPN module since it's based on older less reliable technology from PayPal. Instead, using Express Checkout will be more seamless, resulting in better experience for you and for your customers. And you won't have missing orders due to communications problems.
So, upgrade today, and switch to Express Checkout as well.

Appreciate the info.... I am in the process of upgrading, but I wasn't sure if this problem should be resolved prior too or not? I will upgrade everything you mention and let ya know how it comes out...

Note: Everything appears OK at PayPal...Got the money in my account and the confirmation info...but nothing in my store. I did a test purchase and it went through fine, but when it returned me to my site....there was NO ORDER Number...it was blank and there was no record of the order in my Admin...
You may want to check with Paypal. Recently they have been having issues with their site. I had one similar case such as your happen last week. The first one in almost 3 years. I got the payment in my Paypal account but the order was not recorded in Zencart. I am using the lastest version 1.3.9H.
Again, you also should be switching to Express Checkout to prevent that problem.

I'm having this same problem.
I'm running v1.3.9f which I just went live with last night after updated from 1.3.8a
Last night the only thing I tested was orders by Money order, I was tired and I didn't run a test on the paypal payments standard mod.
I switched to the express checkout this morning. I have a slew of issues with that, but I'll check out the forums and try to figure it out on my own, I just wanted to let the OP know that the same thing happened to me.
At the risk of taking this discussion further off topic, I would remind you that the latest version is v1.3.9h. You should upgrade your site from 1.3.9f to 1.3.9g and then to 1.3.9h to benefit from the bugfixes, including paypal-related things, contained in the updates.
If you're having specific issues related to EC, please start another thread for your particular problems.

My site is at 1.3.9h and has also shown this symptom a few times in the last 2 months. I thought that it had to do with cookies being disabled on the customer's web browser so that the session was lost when customer returned to my site from PayPal. I had the notion that a recent update to Internet Explorer had a change in the default setting for cookies (disabled).
Might this be our culprit?
