145 Table 'whos_online' is marked as crashed and should be repaired

Hi there

I'm using Zencart v1.3.9h and everything is fine and dandy until a week ago.
Now the website keeps crashing with the following error :

145 Table './dartmoor_newshop/zen_whos_online' is marked as crashed and should be repaired
in:
[delete from zen_whos_online where time_last_click < '1299346534']

I can fix the problem using repair database on the cpanel but i don't understand why it is happening.
I have disabled the "who's online button" so it doesn't show on the site.

Apparently the site has been down all day and I haven't touched it for at least 2 days, so i've no idea what caused the problem.
As much as I love zencart, I can't afford to be without a website as its our major marketing tool.
