Default Banner Management & Internal/Relative Linking

    Hello Good Afternoon

    Zen Cart 1.3.9h
    Database Patch Level: 1.3.9h
    PHP Version: 5.2.14

The banner manager requires a url for redirection. I understand good practice says use internal linking not the full URL

I have trawled the forum for guidance. Most posts suggest the use of
    /index.php?main_page=index&cPath=a number
but I am not clear on the following
    1) If that is for a category how do i reference a product
    2) How do I reference a search result. EG do a search and the resultant URL can be used to hard code a redirect.
    3) How do I reference a manufacturer
    4) Last how do I reference EZ pages item

I can use the full URL and do all the above, but I cannot understand how to use relative/indirect linking to achieve the same

I would be grateful for any help, guidance

    Thank you

    Let's say I want to go to cPath 3_10 and products_id 12 ...

I would mark the banner to NOT open a new window use for the URL:
    Code:
    /index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_10&products_id=12

The URL is the URL ...

Did you try a search URL such as when I search for the word:
    test

    I see in the URL:
    Code:
    /index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=test

    Hi Ajeh,

Yes indeed. Using the test system (Xammp sat on windows) I did try copying the url posted as a result of a search and it was as you have described plus a couple of additions
    /index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=test& x=0&y=0
I modified this to be in line with your post but in both cases the page dropped out to the "root"

When I moved the mouse over the banner I noticed this url message on the status bar of the browser

    index.php?main_page=redirection@action=banner&goto=12
I have investigated the number 12 and it doesnt have any relationship that I can discern to the search term

As you say the url is the url so?

    RESULT!

    I remover the "slash" thus
    index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=test
    Works like a charm

Thank you Ajeh - a valuable lesson
