Default To cURL or not to cURL

I'm setting up PayPal express and asked host if cURL was active, they said yes so I turned to true the My Store cURL setting. But then it mentioned something about proxy address and the host said they don't have proxy address. This address is currently blank in the cURL proxy address box. Should I leave it blank, is there anything else I need to know about cURL? Thank you!

If you look at those two settings under My Store, you'll see that they BOTH talk about CURL PROXY. Set the status to OFF. And leave the URL blank.
You ONLY turn that on IF your hosting company USES a proxy. No reputable hosting company will use a CURL proxy.

Zen Cart will use CURL when it needs to. If you enable a module that requires CURL but your server doesn't have it available, you will see specific warnings.
