Default admin not working after moving from local site to server

Hi, I recently developed a Zen Cart installation on my personal computer and moved it online.

I read all of the Zen Cart FAQs for moving, and for installation, and had both of those files right there while I did the process, following every step closely.

All of my directories are listed in the configure files properly, are now set to read only like they should, admin folder is renamed and the changes reflected correctly in the configure file.

When I go to my admin page, I'm getting the message that system setup is required, even though, I just got the success page a few minutes ago.

Any idea what I might do?

    HELP!

I did a fresh install, and per the instructions here:

    https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=99

When I got to the store setup screen I exited the installation, renamed my configure files, renamed my admin folder, set the privileges, and went to login and up comes the System Setup Required page.

I then went back, to do installation again after not being able to get to the admin login page.

This time when I entered installation, I told it to do an upgrade, but left all the boxes blank, and basically skipped through the portion of the installation that would have overwritten my database.

Repeated all of the privileges and admin folder path, config files, etc., same problem.

The database is in tact, the website is displaying properly, I just can't login because when I go to the admin directory, it's telling me system setup is required.

I'm banging my head against the wall right now.

I deleted everything and am starting over.

    Question:

I have a SSL certificate, but being as I'm having all of these problems, I'm going to leave it disabled by default, and worry about it, once I'm actually logged into the admin area.

In the configure.php files should I leave all the URLs at just http versions for now, and only change ANY of them to https when I enable SSL?

Also, during the installation process it asks for the virtual https server and path, should I enter these as http addresses to begin with and change later, or do I have to enter https there even if SSL is disabled initially.

Thanks in advance, ugh what a day!

You can select the radio button for "enable ssl for Admin" to false, in which case it will ignore all your HTTPS settings. So, you don't need to worry about the SSL paths at that time. Best to set them correctly regardless, but setting the radio button/buttons to false will ignore the settings until you change the value to true later.
