Default Country showing incorrectly after data transfer from OSC

Sorry - I really am not sure where to post this, so I hope the "General" area is ok.

We have imported an OSCommerce store into ZenCart using the OsCommerce Data Importer. Now we are having trouble with the customer information.

We are based in the UK, and the majority of our customers are also from the UK. But in the existing customer records their country now shows as "United States Minor Outlying Islands".

I think this may be something to do with counties, but I'm not really sure what to do about it. I need the address to show as United Kingdom - it is the basis for our shipping rules.

    Can anyone advise?

Stranger and stranger... when I did the data transfer as a test last week, there were 2 pages of countries. But when I did it for real today there were 8 pages. I don't think it is a data transfer problem because the country information is not part of the data transfer as far as I can see. But I can't think of what I could have done to make all these new countries appear.

    Confused!

It is very difficult to assess the exact error, but it is likely to do with a mis-match in the database ID fields, and possibly a different structure of the actual country content.

One of the bidg issues with UK - especially regarding COUNTIES, is that there seems to be no STANDARD in naming counties. (So typical of the British, I'm afraid!)

If your current ZC setup has counties and countries of different names (and dbase ID's) from your OsC database, then porting the data will result in such conflicts.

Look at your OSC country table it should look like this for United Kingdom, USA and Minor.
    Code:
    222 United Kingdom GB GBR
    223 United States US USA
224 United States Minor Outlying Islands UM UMI
ZC record ID is the same as OSC.

Looking in your address_book table field entry_country_id will show the customers country ID that should match up.
