    Default Order placed not shown in admin

    I just had a customer place an order but the order did not show in the new orders area. I received the email for the money received through paypal but that does not show what the order is. I tried to call the customer with the number provided but it looks to be incorrect. I already sent an email hoping for a response.

    I have never seen this happen before and was just wondering if there is any way to find what the customer ordered? I guess if not and if the customer does not contact us back then I'll have to refund the money.

    I'm still using 1.3.8a. I kept it on the old version due to many add ons not being compatible with 1.3.9.

    I just ran a test purchase and everything was fine. Money was sent, received and order was shown in admin.

    Maybe it was something on the customers end?

    So, you're saying that you're using v1.3.8a and PayPal Website Payments Standard, and you're encountering the common problem of PayPal orders not showing in your store?
    The fix is simple: Use PayPal Express Checkout instead. And upgrade to the latest version, which contains numerous bugfixes including several related to Paypal issues.

    The risks of lost order details from using PayPal's older-technology Website Payments Standard module are well known. Using EC instead completely bypasses those problems.

    Thanks for the reply.

    So I need to use Paypal express checkout, is there anything I need to do besides going to the payment module and installing?

    When you said upgrade to the latest version, did you mean paypal ec or zen-cart?

    Ok I looked back at one of my old threads and it seems I used paypal standard checkout due to tax reasons. I don't remember exactly but looks like paypal ec doesnt allow for individual taxes to be added from each county within my state. So I may have to continue using the standard or go with a totally different setup?

    I'm not sure which specific tax issues you're talking about.

    But, regardless, either way, you should be upgrading to the latest version of Zen Cart.

    Yes I would like to update the version but what about all of the addons I am currently using that don't state for 1.3.9?
