I own a t-shirt company and I am building a site for our wholesale customers to place orders online for our products. The typical way to treat shirts and other similar products is ti assign attributes to them for people to choose in a drop down. This works well when a customer is buying one small and one medium (or one red and one blue), but my customers will be buying the same item (defined as a shirt with a particular design) in multiple sizes. Many orders include 5, 10, or even more items, in up to 8 or nine sizes. I have figured out that if I make each design it's own category, and each size a product within that category, I can display all of the items in the product listing at the same time, and the customer can fill in the various quantities of each size, then add to cart once.
What I need help with is how to go about modifying the template to display the products as shown in the attached screen shot. I hacked it together with photoshop to illustrate this post. It is a "junker" site I am experimenting on before building the actual site. I used the upper product information display, and coupled it with the product listing table with the images turned off.
