    Default Issue with order comments

    Hello All,

    I am having an issue with my zen cart and perhaps you can give me a hand or hint!

    Somehow, order comments are not being saved with the order, do you know where this is coded?

    In other words, if you are a customer and add order comments, they will not be saved, but afterwards, through the admin, comments may be added perfectly... so if a customer adds comments, I never get to see them...

    any ideas?

    Thanks...but what you are stating is similar to:
    I have a problem, but you have to guess what ZenCart version I use, what php, mysql, server type I have...
    etc
    In other words you have not provided any of the basic information needed to troubleshoot any issue

    And where can this be seen?

    by the way, as a customer, you are able to see the comments all the way up till the last step of checkout, you will click on process order and everything will flow correctly, but at the end, the comments are not stored in the DB.

    What happens if you add the Check/Money Order moneyorder Payment module and try to check out with a comment ... does that work?

    What happens if you switch to the Classic Template and then you add the Check/Money Order moneyorder Payment module and try to check out with a comment ... does that work?

    What happens if you try the above test without the SEO/rewrites?

    for tests I always use the check/money order, so I know it is not a payment module issue...

    seo rewrittes where off during tests... nada.

    classic contemporary green is not working correctly so I am unable to test using that one...

    by the way, the same issue happens if the language is set to English or spanish... so it is not a language file issue

    The best I can suggest is to get a clean copy of your out dated Zen Cart v1.3.8a and do a file comparison to the files from your site with something like Beyond Compare from scootersoftware.com and see what differences there might be that are causing you to lose the comments ...

    This does not happen in a clean v1.3.8 nor a clean current copy of Zen Cart v1.3.9h so it could be a lot of things causing this but it is related to the files on your site ...
