Default I have an odd question

I have reason to believe my site www.redlinestands.com is editing its own database. I say this because I occasionally stumble across products on my site that I could have swore were not the way I last left them. For instance, I'll find a product that has no ability to select color when I'm quite certain I set the product up with a color attribute a long time ago. Being that I'm not 100% certain about this I'm searching for a way to prove my theory. I'm told that there exists software which can download your entire site and document its current state to come back and view at a later time. I figure this would be a helpful tool in discovering if my database is in fact editing itself. Might anyone know where to find such a program?

    I'd check two things:
    1) hacks
    2) contact your hosting service and see if they restored an old copy of the database.

I have. Both do not seem applicable.

If you save all of the admin activity logs, you could go back and check whether you had indeed ever touched a certain product/attribute that you think has changed. Some kind of automated process/filter would be a big help in doing that.

Interesting Gary. How exactly do you save and view activity logs?

There is not actually an interface for viewing the activity log; it just sits in your database unless and until you do something to retrieve it. You would "save" it by exporting the appropriate table from your db. This file could then be examined in a text editor. I don't know what the content would look like... experiment and find out if you are interested:)

Zen Cart is smart, but NOT that smart - It has no way of editing itself. Either you have been hacked or your hosting has changed something or you have just plain forgotten you did or didn't do something.
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

If I had been hacked I'd like to think the hacker would have had much worse intentions than to slightly change my descriptions back to older versions and edit my attributes. At any rate, does anyone know if such monitoring software exists? I have reason to believe that it does.
