Home page text missing

Hi Kim,

I've moved the site to a new server. I tried importing the backup from the old server but it doesn't bring al the files in so I'm stuck with fixing this. Gues I'll just work through each error message one at a time. Any suggestions?

A lot of these seem related to the SEO URLs. i would get rid of those but this isn't my site and somene made the template using the SEO URLs so turning itof breaks a lot of the hardcoded links.

I've set up a clean install of 1.3.9h with the home page text showing. If i connect this site to the original sites database the home page text dissapears so the problem must be in the databse. Does anyone know of anywhere else the home page text can be turned off? It is still in admin>tools>define pages>main page. Help, this site has been down since Sunday now.

Are you using the 'Always show categories on the main page'?

Do your files contain an /includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_index.php?

no my template doesn't have tpl_index.php

Categories - Always Show on Main Page 1 yes.

OK i changes that to no and the text appears but I'm lost as to why? Thanks Kim

now the featured products don't show on the main page. They do when i set Categories - Always Show on Main Page 1 to "no" If i switch it to Categories - Always Show on Main Page 1 yes, the home page text shows but no featured products. I guess thats a corrupt/missing file maybe? but what files should i check now?

Actually if i set Categories - Always Show on Main Page 1 to"no" i get the text but the footer and rh colunm are gone!

Do you have a back up of the original files and database from before you began upgrading?

I have just downloaded them again as the first backup was corrupted. I found the home page problem was an error with social networking code. Thanks for your help. I still have problems with the payment modules but hopefully I can fix them with the new backup files.
