Product on order (on demand)

Hello,

Is there any possibility to create kind of product which could be on demand (order)? Customer could add it to the basket and see status for that product on demand as available but everybody would see that this product is on demand. Moreover I'm looking for similar method for creating products which bringing takes few days (e.g 3-4 work days). Could you write how to create that kinds of products?

I would like to modify this idea.

I think that better way will creating a new kinds of status for products_status and - for example - product with availability 3-5 days could have number 2, over 7 days number 3 etc. (Number 1 exists for typical enabled products) On product's side customer could order that product like normal product, but he will see info about availability 3-5 days instead info about amount.

Moreover customer should can add and order that products without any problems, additional information etc - just like normal product with status 1.

How can do it? Which files and which fragments of code I should modify?
