Product Page Listing - Column/Table layout style?

I want to change the layout style of my product pages where it lists my products. I want to be able to fit more products on a page and have it look just like this.

I did have the product page layout like that before, but all of the products were really spaced out and had big spaces for each product that wasn't needed. Please explain to me how i can get mine to look like the ones above.

Are those links to your site? what do you have now (link to your site?)
The line heights are relative to the image sizes in the listing.
The links you posted... notice the lines are most compact when there is no image.
