Unique shipping cost per item?

I'm getting hopelessly bogged down in the shipping options.

Very simply, I want to type in a unique shipping price per item manually, is this possible? This is because shipping prices are not related to weight, are unique for every item, and only ship to one zone. Thank you for your help

Problem solved - worked around it using the shipping cost by weight, finally figured it out!

Having said which - a simple box to type in shipping cost on the new product page would've been just fine...

You can enter the shipping cost per Product per quantity in the Product Weight and that will be used for the shipping price ...

NOTE: be sure to set the Maximum Weight to 5000 and the Tare Rates to 0:0 so they do not alter the shipping cost ...

Question - can the per unit cost be varied by zone? It doesn't appear to accept this -

By cloning the Per Unit perweightunit shipping module, you can create Zone Definitions and set the rate for each one differently ...

Example, if the Product Weight is set to 1.00 and the Rate for the US is set to 1.00 the charge is $1.00 ...

Then, if you have a cloned copy to work for Canada and the Product Weight is set to 1.00 and the Rate for Canada is set to 1.25 then the charge would be $1.25 ...

Then if you have a cloned copy to work for the UK and the Product Weight is set to 1.00 and the Rate for the UK is set to 1.50 then the charge would be $1.50 ...
