Easy Populate, Many Woes

I'm using ZenCart 1.3.9, installed Easy Populate 1.2.5.7b, made a back-up before doing anything, and may have to simply upload the backup, but am hoping to avoid that, as I'm a newbie both in ZenCart and web work. Never could get Easy Populate installed right and have been devouring all the topics I could find here on it but no luck yet. It wouldn't show up under my Tools menu but later I noticed it was under the configuration menu - it's up to six times now. Tried to uninstall using this link, http://www.modhole.com/modhole/index...&page=EpRemove, but no luck there and I've now used FileZilla to remove every file I uploaded, but still it won't go away under the configuration menu.

Any idea how to completely get rid of Easy Populate and either start over or is there a better product out there? Tried the Excel populate and I got as far as generating the file, adding all the products and trying to populate from file but that didn't work at all and after seeing some warning posts that the Excel populate only worked about 50% of the time, I'm trying Easy Populate. At this point I'd be happy just to get it uninstalled. Thank you so much.

Update, I've re-installed but still have (7 now) Easy Populate menu items under configuration and don't have under Tools, but if I add easypopulate.php?langer=install after my store/admin folder name in browser address bar, it brings up a menu where I can upload the .txt file. Tried a test with one product using the format that was downloaded, but obviously have something wrong somewhere, as it didn't show up in my category listing.

When I try to uninstall it again to start over by using original linked method above, I get this error "Easy Populate Configuration Missing. Please install your configuration by clicking here" and when I click on the 'here' link, it says installation successful.

There sure is alot to learn, and any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I don't know if the version you are using comes with an uninstall.sql file, but if not then you will need to manually remove EP from your database. This is why it's showing up so many times, you have to remove it from the db as well as the php files. If it does come with an uninstall.sql file (or something named similarly) then simply copy and paste that into the admin>tools?install sql patches page.

To manually remove, access your database with phpMyAdmin, through your web host's control panel. Go to the ZC database, in the table configuration, it might be zen_configuration or something else if you opted to use a prefix during installation. In the configuration table go to the search tab along the top. Enter Easy Populate and it will return a result with all of the EP rows. Check them all and then delete. Now they will be gone from your admin's configuration category.

I don't have experience with many of the newer versions of EP, personally I use 1.2.5.4 and it works very well and is stable and haven't had the need to look to upgrade. I don't know about the newer versions but see a lot of threads about this and that problem/bug with versions higher than 1.2.5.4 which is why I recommend it.

Woo Hoo! Going in through phpMyAdmin got rid of the duplicate listings, I did not see an uninstall.sql file. I've removed all the files again via FTP and will try the 1.2.5.4 version, thank you sooo much!
