Default Cache deleted...problem now accessing store

    Hi,
Was trying to do a backup of my store and realized the cache folder had 20000 files in it, so wouldn't complete.
Read a few posts about being ok to delete the contents of cache folder, so did so. (oops?)
I now have a problem accessing the store. (admin logs in fine)

I realise now that 1.3.9D has built in debugging and can delete the files for me, but coming from 1.3.8 I thought it was a module, so deleted them manually.

What should I do to get the cache back how it should be?

(I have a backup of Cache/index.php but no other files from inside the folder)

    Thanks!

Zen Cart proper doesn't need anything particular in the /cache/ folder.

Maybe you had some addons that were putting files/folders in there. In which case deactivating or uninstalling those addons would be a logical troubleshooting step.

    Thanks Drbyte,
I cant think of any mods except perhaps bank deposit, that I've added to site.
I am coming up with this error which may be a reason, but find it hard to follow.
    Code:
[16-Mar-2011 14:39:01] PHP Warning: include_once(includes/languages/english.php) [<a href='function.include-once'>function.include-once</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/centracom/domains/lotsfortots.co.nz/public_html/includes/init_includes/init_templates.php on line 72
    [16-Mar-2011 14:39:01] PHP Warning:  include_once() [<a href='function.include'>function.include</a>]: Failed opening 'includes/languages/english.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/centracom/domains/lotsfortots.co.nz/public_html/includes/init_includes/init_templates.php on line 72
Could you tell me if this would be an obvious file to cause website still to not show? (I have nothing in my cache file)

...thats a debug file error sorry.
Also Firefox shows the below as a result when trying to access site.

"Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete"

If I take the error message literally, it's telling you that you're missing an important file required to run your site. Perhaps fixing that problem would be a good start.

Yes, I had tried copying the english.php [FONT=&quot]includes/languages/english.php, from the includes/languages/mytemplate folder, but still no joy on accessing the website.

Am I able to reinstall the latest version of zen-cart and use my
    [/FONT]1.3.9D database backup on it?

Might be a good chance to upgrade if so....as I can't seem to understand this problem.

    Thanks for your guidance.

It seems as though you actually deleted more than just stuff from the /cache/ folder.

This is where I'd start: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...Obscure_Issues

And then from there I might consider upgrading.
