Attributes required not working...

I am setting up Zen-Cart for the first time, and have pretty much everything configured and setup and working pretty well. I settled on Zen-Cart because of the functionality of the attributes section.

That being said, I'm having a few issues which are odd to say the least. If I used a Text field attribute, the required field function works fine and it requires the user to enter text. However, if you use the file upload attribute option, or the color radio button option, they required option is never enforced.

I did the search through the forum, and I found a few things from 2007 and 2010 that talked about this problem, the solutions didn't solve my issue.

I am using the latest version of Zen-Cart which is 1.3.9h. My store is located at http://www.weetchit.com/zcart

I'm hoping to make my store active in a few days. I'd really appreciate some help in getting this fixed. I'm just not sure where to look.

Did you add any 3rd party addons that affected any admin files?

I have not installed ANY modules. All is stock install.

Reload all your /admin files from a fresg expanded distribution of the same version you are using

I did what you asked. The only thing I restored was the admin/includes/configure.php file so that all my settings worked the same.

I removed the attributes completely from the item, then reset the attributes, and got the same result.

The required option is for TEXT ...

For Radiobuttons and Dropdowns, you need to make an additional Option Value such as:
Pick a Color ...
Sort Order: 0
Display Only: Yes
Default: Yes

This forces a selection ...

For uploads, there is not a require option ... however, I believe someone might have made an add on for this but I have never used it ...

That seems to have fixed the issue. I still need the ability to require a file upload. I may have to add that myself if there isn't already a mod for that.

I found the file upload mod and it worked. There was a small bug in the package that I had to fix, but it all seems to work now.

Wade, I, too, need this mod. Can you document for me here what you changed? I'd really appreciate it.

BTW, did you notice that when you hit the "require" button on the attribute,m it turns red and not green?
