Whicj configure file are you quoting from? It looks like your public_html/admin/includes one, but that setting needs to be in your public_html/includes version. Unless they've gotten confused, which could explain that message, though not necessarily the Internal Server error.

    Thanks Kuroi.

    I am quoting from my - /public_html/biggirl1/includes/configure.php - file.

So, are you saying that the information in this file should actually be located in - /public_html/includes/configure.php- and vice versa?

Also, I have updated my permissions according to my web host's specifications, so I think that everything is okay there.

My web host suggested that; if the permission corrections didn't work, my only alternative would be to try and restore the site from my backup files. But if there is a problem in my code; then, I assume, that it will be reflected in my backup!

Before making an edit to either of your config files you must first change permissions to 644, which is done through the Control Panel of your Hosting account. After making the update then change permissions back to 444. Did you do this?

Thanks so much for your suggestion.

I did make the permission changes that you mentioned. Unfortunately, I'm still getting the 500 error. Really frustrating. I just don't know how to resolve this.

The front and back sides of your site do not appear to work. My guess you have something wrong in both config files. Can you post both of them, leaving out security information such as; password, username, etc.

You appear to have a copy of the configure.php from the Admin in your Catalog ... the two files are different ...
