The front and back sides of your site do not appear to work. My guess you have something wrong in both config files. Can you post both of them, leaving out security information such as; password, username, etc.

You appear to have a copy of the configure.php from the Admin in your Catalog ... the two files are different ...

Can you advise as to how I can correct or reverse the configure.php correspnding to the catalog. Unfortunately, my backup file contains the error.

You should be able to compare the file:
/includes/dist-configure.php

that comes with a clean Zen Cart download to your Admin configure.php and fill in the blanks correctly ...

Please forgive me. I am really an idiot in regards to this stuff. Just want to clarify before I start making changes.

From what you stated in your first response; I thought that the configure.php from the catalog would require adjustment... since the catalog configure file had been overwritten with the admin configure file..? It's getting bad. I actually dreamt about this last night!!!

If you do not have a backup of your:
/include/configure.php

you will need to remake it ...

One way to do that is to compare what you have to the file:
/includes/dist-configure.php

that comes with a clean Zen Cart and fill in the settings ...

I recreated the page as suggested. And I guess, in a strange way, I've made progress. I no longer have the 500 error. Now I just have a blank page. I guess I'm looking at another sleepless night. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps you have blank space(s) or line(s) after the the closing php ?> that need to be removed ...

Look in the directory:
/cache

for debug logs that might be created ...

I checked the error log as suggested. Since rebuilding the /includes/configure.php, no additional errors were logged. Prior to rebuilding the configure file I received the error found below:
