blocking everyone from viewing website except certain ips

Hi there, we'd like to shut our website down from being viewed. we have used the admin section to shut it down from ordering, etc. etc. but would like to know how to shut it down completely from being views. like giving out a 501 error message, etc.

Password protect the level that you have it at...

But I suggest that you do not do this

Leave it up and viewable while you develop it and the SE's will start indexing and returning as you make additions/changes

You will be ahead of the game when you actually go live

Even if it takes a good amount of time
