How can I activate other banner ad slots besides the default?

Hi....

I've noticed that there are multiple banner ad slots in the code for the cart, for instance on tpl_footer.php, there's:

.......

<!--eof-banner #5 display -->

How do I set position beyond the sidebox, wide, and all defaults?

Also, I noticed that when I activate the wide banner slot, it appears at the bottom-most part of the page, while the banner #5 display is under the 'your IP address is...' text. Further, I see NO code for a banner to be displayed at the very bottom. Was this positioned at the absolute bottom of the page via CSS, instead of being 'last' in the HTML code? Is that bottom wide banner the same as 'banner #5'?

Where can I find a listing of all available ad slots?

I checked the tutorials for this, and couldn't find much about this part, specifically.

The Footer Position 3 should be the very bottom of the page ... did you try using that one?

A search in the Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ... in the bottom input box on:
SHOW_BANNERS_GROUP_SET6

select Catalog ... click Search ...

should show where that code is located ...

Reading your message, I realized that there MUST be a place to set the banners to ON in the config. (I must've missed that..err)

So, I looked, and found it in about 3 seconds.

I suppose the easiest way to find where each ad slot appears would be to create an ad for each one, and just see where it ends up on the page.

But, to find where the code is that activates each (maybe to move it to a new spot?) the search you suggested would be necessary.

So, I'm guessing that to create NEW ad slots, a new set of code must be placed SOMEwhere on the page where it'll display, and a new definition for SHOW_BANNERS_GROUP_SET12, for example, must be added to the config menu, and as a database entry also??

You can find the references to the existing spots with:
SHOW_BANNERS_GROUP_SET

then you can clone the code to a new value and set the new value, such as:
SHOW_BANNERS_GROUP_SET12

into the configuration table, like the other settings, or you could make a define setting for it ... but adding to the configuration table would be easier for changes and such ...
