Recently upgraded, changes in admin not applying to test site

I recently upgraded from 1.3.9a to 1.3.9h. I now have my older site up as the one that my url still directs to, and my new site up also as I make minor fixes. When I am logged into my new store's admin and I make changes in the configurations, I don't see the changes taking place in the new store. For instance, I don't want to the product quantity or model number to be showing, and I have them both set to '0' in both the Product Listing and All Listing, but they are still showing. There are other little configuration changes that don't seem to be applying as well.

Any insight to this problem?

While the above examples are somewhat minor, I just found a major problem in my admin. Under catalog/products, if I click through the categories and get to the products, if I click on the product to edit it or click on the little edit button, it goes to a blank page (though with all the admin header stuff still intact).

If I messed up some files when I upgraded, does anyone know which files I might look at to compare to my old store? All the admin files maybe?

Unless you have a lot of admin-related mods installed, I usually fix that kind of problem by re-uploading all the admin folders and files, overwriting what's there.

Thanks for replying. I went ahead and re-uploaded all the fresh 1.3.9h admin files and I went into my admin and the same thing is happening. When I go into the categories/products and click on a product, nothing shows up.

Any other ideas?

I fixed this issue, the problem was in the collect_info.php file due to changes I had made sometime back to add some extra description columns to my database. It all came down to two missing }'s .....
