Items in Stock number is not reducing

I set up a new store yesterday and have made about a dozen sales of various downloadable products already. However, I noticed this morning that the number of items in stock for each product (I started them at 149) has not reduced and is still displaying the original values in both my admin section and on the store itself.

I have searched the FAQs and the forum, but can't find anything specific to this problem.

Any ideas?

Thank you - that looks to be exactly what I needed. Hopefully I'll make a sale again soon to be able to confirm that it works.

Test using a free download product with free charge card payment option inbuilt into zencart.
