Facebook like button

I am wanting to put a Facebook "Like" button on my site and possibly even a "Twitter" button as well. I tried the blank sidebox download but it is not seen on my site at all! I hope someone can help me with this.

ok....which one should be the one I turn on? there are several but none say "blank sidebox"

If you are not seeing your blank sidebox, then you did not install it correctly

ok, it now shows up in controller area like other sideboxes, I put it "ON" and on the left. BUT it still does not show up in live site!
