customers cant check out and I cant get to admin

I cant get into my admin site and the actual site works except customers cant login or go to shopping cart. All this happened after trying to get Blank_Sideboxes to work. I used my local files to update my server files so I have no working backup. Customers can browse site but cant make purchase.

Well , if you have been doing this for "years", then I will assume that you ALWAYS take a backup before embarking upon making a change

Restore your backup and then step through adding the blank side box again step by step

Adding a sidebox should not cause what you are seeing
