Shipping Rates Adding and extra $1

Shipping rates are always adding a mysterious $1.00. I have only one shipping rate which is "per item" and I've set the per item charge at $2.50 and the handling at $7.50. That should equal $10 for 1 item, but it always shows (upon shipping calculation) as $11.00. If I change the figures in anyway say "per item" to $2.00 - the calculated rate then goes to say $10.45.... and it doesn't make sense. What is affecting this rate other than the settings under Modules/Shipping??

Have you checked the shipping module file itself to see if anything was customized for the extra charge?

Shipping modules are located in:
/includes/modules/shipping

No nothing was changed in this file.

And you only see the Green dot on the Per Item item shipping module ... correct? And ALL other shipping modules are red ... correct?

There are no green dots actually...only yellow dots. I do the edits and apply edits but it never changes to green.

If you have Zones set on the Shipping modules you will see the yellow dots ...

If you have set the shipping module to Disabled you will see the yellow dots ...

Be sure you only have installed the shipping modules that you are actually using and rather than marking as Disabled, you should do a REMOVE on the modules not used ...


If you click on the Per Item item shipping module and do a REMOVE, INSTALL and reconfigure ... does this change anything?
