Help moving the db in the new version

I have a shop that I neglected... for a long time and now I'm trying to upgrade it to the last version of Zen Cart.

I've been trying to follow the tutorial provided with the script but (and here i mean no offense) i can't really make heads or tails of it with installing 2 new databases and finding differences between files and etc.

The store was showroom only, doesn't have any shipping modules, payment modules, converters, anything.

The truth is that i only want to keep the categories made and the products, i don't even want to keep the template, basically I want to start over with the new script version, find a new template for it, just keep that database with the products (i don't even have registered customers).

Would someone be kind enough to provide me with the info to do just that? without winmerge and tests and etc.

The script's 'version' link shows:

I looks like you have already decided what mods you do or dont want -

read the tutorial - back up your site and then do a fresh install in a new folder as not to mess with your old site.
go thru the install and also the uploading of your override files that customizes your site. Pretty much that is it.

install the mods you need. and then upgrade your databases.
Dont forget to reconfig your admin files and all the things that is suggested for security.Test - Test-Test - then move your new site to the location for it to be viable.

Again all this is outlined in the tutorials and there are some nice threads that the gurus of this forum has guided others thru this procedure.
