ePDQ Module help needed

Hi there,

We are currently using 1.3.9 and have just set up ePDQ with Barclay's. I have found the add on module but when I install it nothing happens, the payment option doesn't show up in the modules - payment section for configuration as it states it should do in the install instructions.

I've tried everything I can think of but nothing works, im still pretty new to Zen so could quite easily be overlooking something ! If anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it

Hi Shawn,

I'm afraid (at least we have always found) that the EPDQ module which is within the Free Software Add On section doesnt work with 1.3.9x (it could do with being removed) - that said the EPDQ payment process has never really worked. We've always found the support offered by Barclays to be shocking and instead we recommend you try and cut your ties and switch to another provider such as SagePay or alike - which we've found work very well.

Sorry thats not a very positive reply, but its from our own (and customers) experience.

There's no particular reason why the mod shouldn't work with 1.3.9x, but we found the callback approach mandated by Barclays to be rather sensitive to server configurations.

However, I agree with jsweb re: Barclays support. We had to wait 3 months to get a test account and then it arrived out of the blue but was valid for only a short period - making any ongoing support for the module near impossible.

However, we wouldn't have wanted to support it anyway. We found a flaw in their approach, but when we raised it with the support guys, it became clear that they were well aware of it, had papered over it, but had no plans to deal with it.

So we too recommend to clients to use SagePay. they've had some wobbles in their service recently, but nevertheless remain the most competent of the payment gateways in the UK.

kuroi - I was hoping you would add a comment on here, especially as it was your hard work that went into the module update.

We both haven't ever fallen in love with HSBC!! ;)
