Default Modifying gift certificate email templates

I'm trying to modify the email template used when the store sends a gift certificate to a customer.

I've tried modifying the templates I find in:

    store/email/email_template_gv_mail

    store/email/email_template_gv_send

But neither has any effect on the email that's sent. What file do I need to modify?

    Thanks,

    John

Those are the correct files to modify if you're using the Admin screens for sending gift certificates and sending HTML-formatted emails.

If you're wanting to edit the TEXT-Only versions of the emails, you'll have to do that in the corresponding language files, since the text-only emails don't have dedicated templates (although that's a feature that will be in v2.0). If you're wanting to completely change the layout of how those emails are built, at this time you may have to also edit the .php files that generate the emails, and not just the language files.

Ah, thank you for that information and the link.

Another question: We're sending out text only emails. I found the language files that control these, but I can't seem to find the code that generates this link in the email:

We'd like to eliminate this link, because it's confusing to customers. How do I eliminate that from a text-only email?

    Thanks,

    John

Yeah -- they click on the link and are taken to the site where the gift certificate is applied. But they don't seem to realize this, so at checkout time, they try to enter the gift certificate code and get an error (because the certificate has already been applied).

So they complain that the gift certificate is not good...

Eliminating the link will force them to enter the code manually, which they are doing anyway.

What .php files are used to format the text-only emails?
