Atttributes as images

I am using 1.3.9.

Is it possible to set up attribites as images via the admin? Instead of S, M L etc I want to use an image.

The attribute system runs on a <form> based submission, so an input FIELD is required. Having just an image will not allow for a user selection, as an image does not behave as a form selector.

You can add image "swatches" to an attribute set, illustrating whatever you need to illustrate as an option to be selected.
