Default Problems when moving a working site

    Hi folks!

I've been combing threads for a while trying to find something similar to the problem I'm having and am just stuck. I am trying to move my site oddbodkin.com to my new server. I am building and testing to get everything right beforehand using an alternate domain name. odd-bodkin.com/shop

I am using zencart version 1.3.7 and it's been moderately modified. I will be upgrading after I get things moved and working, but I'm currently stuck. I have transferred the ftp files twice now (both downloaded and uploaded) to try to eliminate the possibility of a fragmented file. I moved the database by hand in small chunks and got no errors. The front end displays just fine. Everything looks like it's in place.

Until you try to log in to the admin or as a customer. On the front end, logging in as a customer results in a blank page and no indication that it has logged you in. On the admin side, the page is garbled and I see mostly code fragments, but no errors. You can see for yourself here: http://odd-bodkin.com/shop/adminODDBODKIN2009.

I also installed a fresh copy of zencart using the application install process on my plesk panel and used the config files from that to help me get all the paths correct in my 1.3.7 copy. That is working perfectly here: http://odd-bodkin.com/zencart

    Install info:

    a) Troubleshooting causes of blank pages: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=82
    b) Your new server is likely incompatible with ZC 1.3.7 ... namely because it's using PHP 5.2+ but v1.3.7 was designed for PHP4. Best to upgrade to v1.3.9 on the old server, make sure it's working right there, and then move it all to the new server.

Oh wait.. it's a VPS. Couldn't I just install PHP4 to give it support for zencart 1.3.7? I'm not sure how to do that, but does anyone have an idea if it *should* be possible before I waste several hours looking for the how-to?

If *you* have the ability to revert to a PHP version before 5.2.0, feel free.
But if you're gonna spend several hours figuring out "how", then why not spend that time on your 1.3.9 upgrade instead of throwing away those 2 hours?

Exactly what I decided to do. Have the 1.3.9 cart up and crawling. Still figuring out some bugs and what not but am enjoying some of the great new features of 1.3.9 immensely. Thanks for all your hard work. :)
