    help question Tare weight

This is my first post, and I feel silly asking, but here goes...

Another poster asked about tare weights, but didn't receive a response. I have the same question so just re-posted her note.

    ---

So, I think spelling it out will help me and others..

    Example: 10% + 1lb 10:1
    10% + 0lbs 10:0
    0% + 5lbs 0:5
    0% + 0lbs 0:0

    My item weighs 0.214lbs

What does the percentage signify? Is it the percentage of the item's weight which will make up the total shipping weight?

What about the "+1lb". Does that mean that the shipping weight at checkout will be ITEM WEIGHT + 1 lb of SHIPPING MATERIAL?

    ---

Thanks so much for your help!

    Default Re: Tare weight

10:1 means to add 10% x the weight + 1lb to the shipping weight ...

So if the weight is 7lbs it will add:
    7lbs + (7*10%) + 1 for 8.70 pounds
