Default Manufacturers Sideboxes return SQL errors

A few details about my store:

    Version: 1.3.9h
    Template: Using custom template;
    Language: Romanian
    Mods: Irrelevant IMO

    ################################################################################ ##########_

    Hello,

I'm facing a problem with the manufacturers side-boxes (manufacturers, manufacturers-info). When I try to display the products list for a manufacturer zen cart returns an SQL error, more precisely this SQL error:

    Code:
1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'from where manufacturers_id = 35' at line 2
    in:
    [select from where manufacturers_id = 35]
I've been searching through the forums but I haven't found a viable solution yet:

One thread I found is this one: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45377

Said thread offers an SQL patch fix but it's for 1.3.5. and from what I've read the problem was fixed in 1.3.6.

    ################################################################################ ####################__

    UPDATE with second problem:

I don't want to open another thread so I'll try finding some answers here:

Problem: Category headings display HEADING_TITLE instead of proper category name till the 3rd subcategory tree.

    I also couldn't find help for this issue, I've been looking through the language defines but from what I know about php the problem is most likely caused by something else;

I have an old mod installed, from back in 2009, that makes the category side-box extend to display subcategories beneath each parent category but I've lost track of it and don't remember the name. I'm thinking it may be the cause of my problem.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Your SQL error is showing that the table name is missing. this isn't the case in the core Zen Cart code, so something must have been changed, knowing what would be a big clue in understanding what needs to be fixed.

Unfortunately, your description of how you trigger the problem and where you see it is a bit vague, making it very difficult to understand precisely what's happening or to give you more specific help.

re: the second question - unrelated questions in the same thread causes confusion. it would be better to start a second one.

I used a text comparison program to compare
    /includes/modules/sideboxes/manufacturers.php
    and
    /includes/modules/sideboxes/manufacturer-info.php

to those in the original zen-cart build and they are identical.

    Where else might I look?

A better description of my problem:

    In the manufacturers sidebox:

When I select a manufacturer from the dropdown list I get the error. The list itself displays fine.

    In the manufacturer-info sidebox:

When I click on View more products from this manufacturer button I get the same error although all the other info displays fine.

    ----------------------------------

Regarding the reply for the other issue I'll make time and open another thread.

Is there really no one that can help? At the very least can anyone point me in a direction where I might get help with zen-cart related issues?

The problem is specific to your site, so if you want a guaranteed resolution quickly then hire an experienced Zen Cart developer to look at your site in depth.

Otherwise this is the community forum where users help each other subject to the limitation of knowledge and time (yet still out perform most of the paid for support services that I've experienced).

In the meantime, the problem won't be where you're looking, as if it where the problem would occur when the sideboxes were being built, rather than when you click on a link in them.

More likely would be a problem with your default_filter.php file, which applies the manufacturer filter when selected from those sideboxes.

Other than that, without a link to the site and a list of add-ins and custom mods that have been been made to it, there's just not a lot of advice that can be given.

I understand, unfortunately a link to the site won't do much good given that the sideboxes are disabled. The site has around 700 visits a day and I can't afford exposing customers to these kinds of errors.
Also I haven't been able to replicate the error on my local test environment although it should be a perfect copy of the site.

Regarding the links and or names of the mods installed, I haven't been working on this site for almost 2 years and the webmaster that replaced me during this time didn't take the time to keep a record of the mods that he installed.

I'm sorry but I can't provide much more data, I thought that since I wasn't the first to experience this problem someone might be able to tell me what caused it for them and how they went about fixing it.

Anyway, thank you for your time.
