Subscription/Membership/Group Pricing Question

We want to add a membership scheme whereby a customer can pay to join for a year and will obtain discounted pricing. Any suggestions would be welcome.

- customer would get 1 years worth of subscription
- after 1 year the subscription would expire
- alternate pricing is probably 40% off all prices except S&H
- we'd like the customer to get the pricing immediately they pay the membership

The group pricing (wholesale) looks like it might provide some capability. It's limitations would appear to be:

- how to give the group pricing immediately the customer buys the membership
- how to track when the subscription started
- how to expire the subscription

We don't desire any form of automated renewals.

Are there any modules that would help with this?

If I do this myself:

- what hooks are the in Zen Cart to update the customers account to obtain group pricing if a particular product is purchased?
- and to add a date field to indicate when the subscription started

I can then have a cron job to remove the modify the user upon expiration.

I have. That's where I found details of the group pricing module.

There is an older subscription module that you could base off of

Do you mean "Subscription System and Auto Menu Pages" or am I missing an option.

This one doesn't really do what I need in terms of having members only pricing.

I do not believe that there is one that does both Subscriptions and Group Pricing so you may need to roll your own but can maybe use parts
